What is USA Spending?
USAspending.gov surfaces every prime award the federal government has reported under the FFATA / DATA Act since fiscal-year 2008. Slice the data the way an analyst actually wants to: by recipient name (fuzzy match supported), by NAICS code (oil-services use 21 / 2111 / 2131 / 213111 / 213112), by awarding agency toptier code (089 Department of Energy / 097 DoD / 014 Interior), by place of performance, or by free-text keywords. Six award-type groups are filtered separately — contracts, IDVs, grants, loans, direct payments, and other financial assistance — each with its own canonical code list. Pull a single award's full record (parent agency, sub-agency, period of performance, executive compensation, federal action obligations) by generated_internal_id, or pull a recipient's full profile by hash (parent / child / standalone via the -P / -C / -R suffix). Toggle on and use — no setup needed.
