GLEIF Entity Registry

Live

Resolve a company name to its LEI and an operator subsidiary to its ultimate parent company.

What is GLEIF Entity Registry?

GLEIF (Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation) — the open global registry of legal entities. Resolve a company name to its 20-character LEI, fuzzy-match partial/variant names, and walk ownership: an LEI to its direct or ultimate parent entity. The headline use case: regulators (RRC, state agencies) list dozens of subsidiary names for one major operator — GLEIF maps those subsidiaries back to the ultimate parent. Global coverage including private subsidiaries that SEC EDGAR doesn't carry. Free, no auth. Toggle on and use.

Available Tools

  • searchEntities
Search legal entities by name; returns LEI, jurisdiction, status, address.
  • suggestEntities
Fuzzy autocomplete: resolve a partial/variant company name to candidate LEIs.
  • getEntity
Fetch one entity by its 20-character LEI.
  • getUltimateParent
Resolve an LEI to its ultimate parent entity (null if top-level).
  • getDirectParent
Resolve an LEI to its direct parent entity (null if none).

Requirements

  • Toggle on
